The 7th African School of Physics (ASP2022) took place at Nelson Mandela University in Gqeberha, South Africa, on November 28 – December 9, 2022, NMU-ASP-2022.

Statistics :

  • 94 students from 40 African countries in-person engagements, Nov 28 – Dec 9, 2022;
  • an additional up to 97 for online participation; these students received support to boost their internet connectivity;
  • 76 in-person high school teachers from South Africa (Nov 28 – Dec 2);
  • 231 in-person high school pupils (Dec 5-9) from the region around Gqeberha.

The program includes:

  1. Two-week intensive engagements with students, November 28 – December 9, 2022
  2. One-week training workshop for high school teachers, November 28 – December 2, 2022
  3. A forum for discussion with African policymakers in physics education and research, December 3, 2022
  4. One-week physics outreach to high school learners, December 5-9, 2022
  5. In-person and online networking
